TEMPERATURES

Central Australia is an arid zone with an approximate annual rainfall of 250 cm (10 ins).  As you can imagine, summer is hot (38o C or above) and winter, while overall quite pleasant, can have overnight minimum temperatures of zero or below.

As a guide, April/May to September/October are regarded by locals as the very best times of the year.

PRECAUTIONS
The effects of dehydration and sunburn can ruin a great holiday.  Visitors are strongly advised to use a good sunscreen, wear a wide brimmed hat, wear a shirt and, if going out of town, carry water. There is no guarantee that water will be available along the way or at your destination.

Most buildings and vehicles are air conditioned but be aware that out of doors, heat stress can sneak up on you.
